Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning / Data interpretation
Reading, comparing, and calculating from structured data.

Start with the basics
A table or chart organises data so you can compare quantities. Read its labels and units before calculating.
A table shows 12 books borrowed on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. How many were borrowed in total?
Remember: A chart showing percentages cannot be treated as raw counts without knowing the total.
Log in to save highlights and answer practice questions. Select text in a note, then choose a highlight colour. On mobile, touch and hold to select. Choose Save highlights or Save changes to save to your account. You’ll be prompted before leaving unsaved study changes.
BEGINNER
Read headings and totals carefully. A statement is sufficient only when it fixes the answer, including a definite no.
Solve linked sets, not just isolated calculations. Select sets by clarity of constraints; build one representation for all questions.
Build reliable arithmetic and chart reading first. Keep speed proportional to certainty and verify the base of percentage changes.
Budget time within the section. In data sufficiency, separate the two statements before combining them.
Combine common quantitative skills with accurate interpretation of unfamiliar data. Recheck units and assumptions.
Choose a fast method only after identifying the base and units. In sufficiency questions, test uniqueness rather than calculating unnecessarily.

12 + 18 = 30 books; Tuesday exceeds Monday by 6.
Total = sum of comparable values
Percentage share = part ÷ total × 100
